"Come on men, don't be cowards fight for your country!" the troops ran by screaming and yelling, guns and cannon's were sounding off as the menlunge forward in battle. Leading these brave men were the pippers and drums. With no other then the colorguard following closely behind them.
This is how color guard orignated. This was a time "where rifles really did shoot, and sabers really did thrust"( colorguardcorner) the late 1800's. Colorguard orignated with the civil war. It is a symbol of ones pride in their country and wqas carried by only trusting men who's arm could'nt get tired. Although the up part was that you would'nt get shot. It being a respect thing with the armys, so of course everyone wanted this job.
Soon enough word spread about these "guardsmen" in the army. In almost the blink of an eye every army across the world had a guardsmen, some even having up to five! Though guardsmen didn't last past 1904. After that they were no longer needed as armies were no longer in the battlefields. We were on oppsite continents coming over in boats and bombing each other now and then. This was the end of color guard. They were put away on the shelf, seemingly forgoten, and no further use was thought helpful. People were still showing pride in their colors but instead of the stoic guardsmen they were replaced with flag poles.
