Not longer then this have been forming came along drum core. Drum core came from the first branch of history. Music. Music to go along with the guard what a great idea. It was to have trumpets, drummers, flutes clarinets, Tubas, saxophones, and even the xylophone. Then they thought why not put them out on a football field.
Theres plenty of music for the ear but nothing really pleasing for the eye
So they put dancers in with the band, which was nice except for the couple thousand people in the top part of the stadium who saw the dancers as ants. Then it was decided to give flags to these dancers. And what a difference it made now these ants have specks of color, ohh! Ahh! Good advice to drum core watchers, get the seats close.
So we got another branch in our color guard history. This branch is still in use today, mainly in high schools but sometimes as an independent thing.
